OL Reign Re-Signs Forward Tziarra King Through 2023 Season

OL Reign has re-signed forward Tziarra King through the 2023 season, the club announced today. Per league and club policy, the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Having Zee continue to develop at our club is exciting,” said head coach Laura Harvey. “She has shown over the past few years that she has some tools that can make an impact in this league. I’m excited to see her continue to grow and develop in the next season!”

King originally joined OL Reign in January 2021 in a trade with Kansas City. The dynamic forward played in all four of OL Reign’s Challenge Cup matches in 2021, putting on a standout performance in the Reign’s match against the Chicago Red Stars. In that match, King subbed on in the second half and made an immediate impact, assisting Leah Pruitt’s 70th minute goal that allowed OL Reign to take the lead in the match. King also netted a goal of her own in the 87th minute of match, propelling OL Reign to earn the 3-2 win.

During the regular season, the 23-year-old featured in 15 matches for OL Reign. She scored one goal and earned one assist, both in OL Reign’s 2-0 win against Orlando on July 24th. Her stellar performance against Orlando earned NWSL Player of the Week honors. Throughout the 2021 season, King connected 144 passes and made three key passes. The forward made nine interception and seven clearances, while earning a tackle success rate of 73.3%.

“I’m so excited to be coming back to the Reign,” said King. “I’ve learned so much this past year and I can’t wait to continue this journey. I’m looking forward to what we can continue to achieve as a club.”
