Update on NWSL Training Procedures

The National Women’s Soccer League announced today its plans to proceed to the next phase of preparation for the 2020 season. As Washington state is operating under a stay-at-home order through at least May 31, this announcement does not affect OL Reign players or staff at this time.

Beginning on Wednesday, May 6, players in markets not under stay-at-home orders may begin training as a household at team practice facilities with the approval of team medical staff and following established league protocols.

All training during this phase of preparation is voluntary. Clubs may have an essential member of staff, including a coach or sports scientist, on site to ensure players are following protocol. Those staff members may not, however, direct workouts during this time.

Further updates to the training protocol will be provided as they become available.
