Five Can’t-Miss Reign FC Matches in 2025
The 2025 NWSL schedule has arrived! Seattle Reign FC kicks off the season at home on Saturday, March 15 at 7:00 p.m. and plays a total of 13 home matches. As the team ushers in the 2025 season, here are five home matches you simply can’t miss:
1. March 15 vs. NJ/NY Gotham FC
The team kicks off the 2025 season with a home match against NJ/NY Gotham FC. Well acquainted with one another, battles between the Reign and Gotham always bring excitement befitting a Home Opener. In the last 10 head-to-head match ups, a total of 29 goals have been scored and five of those matches featured three or more goals. The teams have amassed a head-to-head record of 12-10-8, but a series of offseason roster moves, including a blockbuster trade between the teams, will spur a renewed sense of unpredictability in the match up.
2. March 30 vs. Orlando Pride
Reign FC hosts the current NWSL Champions and Shield winners to cap off their opening month of NWSL play. With a 7-7-4 head-to-head record, the teams last met in the Reign’s final match of 2024. At Orlando’s home field, the Reign notched two goals in a match that featured five total goals, including one from midfielder Maddie Mercado, who recently signed a new contract with the Reign.
3. April 18 vs. Portland Thorns FC
The Reign host their biggest rivals, Portland Thorns FC at Lumen Field in the highly anticipated Cascadia Rivalry on April 18. Two of the rivalry's most experienced players, Jess Fishlock and Lu Barnes, have returned for another season to lead the squad through the rivalry. This meeting marks the 42nd clash between the two sides all-time.
4. May 11 vs. Houston Dash
An exciting Mother’s Day match up sees the Reign take on the Houston Dash. Seattle has dominated the all-time head-to-head series, winning 17 of a total 24 matches played. Most recently, the Reign hosted the Dash at Lumen Field on October 18 and won 2-1. The match featured a game-winning goal from forward Nérilia Mondésir — her first NWSL goal after she entered the league in August.
5. August 1 vs. Angel City FC
A west coast foe kicks off the return of NWSL play for the Reign after a long international window in July that sees a hiatus on regular season play. Always a closely contested match, the Reign have gotten the better of Angel City eight times, also adding one draw and two losses. Excluding draws, 70% of matches have been decided by one goal. Reign FC’s 2025 roster also includes the addition of former Angel City defender, Madison Curry.
