Dzsenifer Marozsán Named to German National Team for October World Cup Qualifiers
OL Reign midfielder Dzsenifer Marozsán has been called up to the German Women’s National Team for the October FIFA international match window, where the team is set to play two World Cup Qualifying matches. The first match will take place in Israel and the second will take place in Germany.
No. 3 ranked Germany takes on No. 71 ranked Israel in both of their World Cup Qualifying matches. The first match will be played on Thursday, October 21 at HaMoshava Stadium in Petah Tikva, Israel at 9:00 a.m. PT. The two teams meet a second time five days later, on Tuesday, October 26, at Stadion Essen in Essen, Germany at 7:05 a.m. PT. This is the first time that Germany and Israel are meeting in an international match.
As part of the World Cup qualifying process, Germany will face Turkey and Portugal in Group H in addition to Israel, Serbia and Bulgaria. The top nine teams in the group qualify directly for the World Cup. The group runners-up play playoffs for two more spots in the tournament.
Marozsán has been playing with the German national team since October 2010, when she made her debut against Australia. She has 106 appearances for the team and has scored 33 goals. Most recently, she was called up during the September FIFA window and played in both of Germany’s World Cup Qualifying matches against Bulgaria and Serbia, earning one assist.
