2022 Lookback: Every Goal Megan Rapinoe Scored
Forward Megan Rapinoe appeared in 15 games for OL Reign throughout the regular season. The veteran player scored her first goal of the season on August 7 and went on an impressive run, adding six more goals before the end season, tying with forward Bethany Balcer as OL Reign’s leading goal scorer. She was one of four players league-wide to finish the regular season recording multiple games with a goal and an assist in the same game.

August 7, 2022, against the Houston Dash
Assisted by midfielder Kim Little, Rapinoe netted her first of the season in front of a home crowd at Lumen Field. Her superb strike was perfectly placed at the far post to give OL Reign the 1-0 lead in the 16th minute of the match.
August 14, 2022, against NJ/NY Gotham FC
Her first of two goals in OL Reign’s home match against Gotham came as a penalty kick. There was no doubt in anyone’s mind as she stepped up the spot and coolly struck the ball low and to the right, past Betos in goal
Rapinoe then secured the brace when she one-touched a ball from forward Jordyn Huitema to the far post to make it 3-0 in favor of OL Reign.
August 26, 2022, against the Orlando Pride
Perhaps Rapinoe’s most notable goal of the season, this stoppage time beauty secured a crucial three points for the Reign. Just before the end of the match, Rapinoe put the Reign up 2-1 on the road with a volley on defender Sofia Huerta’s perfectly placed cross.
September 17, 2022, against the North Carolina Courage
On a free kick, Rapinoe snuck the ball past every player on the field and into the near post to take the 2-1 lead for OL Reign.
September 21, 2022, against NJ/NY Gotham FC
Trustworthy from the penalty spot, Rapinoe put the Reign up 1-0 against Gotham with another brilliant strike from 12-yards out.
October 1, 2022, against the Orlando Pride
Rapinoe gave the Reign the early lead in their final regular season match. Huitema played Rapinoe in wide, before the experienced forward smashed the ball to the far post.
