Olympique Lyonnais (12-2-7, 43 points, 3rd) hit a historic marker with an emphatic 5-0 win over archrivals AS St-Étienne (4-10-7, 19 points, 16th) on Sunday. OL now holds the lead in the overall series record at 45-44-33 for the first time since 1956.
Tino Kadewere and Marcelo each bagged a brace in the victory, with Kadewere notching the game-winner in the 16th minute when he cleaned up a loose corner kick inside the six yard box. Both of Marcelo’s goals were scored with the Brazilian’s head, thanks to free kick service from Léo Dubois.
Lyon’s final goal came from a Memphis Depay free kick, which skipped off the head of ASSE defender Denis Bouanga and into the upper right corner as Lyon took three points on their fierce rival’s home ground.

Macario and Egurrola Reach Lyon
OL Féminin’s latest international signings officially arrived at the club on January 25. American forward Catarina Macario was joined by Spanish international midfielder Damaris Egurrola.
Macario, who signed with Lyon ahead of the 2021 NWSL Draft, joins from Stanford University where she was a two-time MAC Hermann Trophy winner.
Egurrola joins Lyon from English side Everton. Though born in the United States, the 21-year-old spent most of her childhood in Spain, for whom she made her senior national team debut in 2019.
“I’m very happy to be here,” Egurrola said. “I’ve been able to practice here before and it’s been going really well for me. It was my dream since I was little to be here and now I hope to accomplish my other goals. Everyone knows this is the best club in the world. When I received their call I was very surprised, but also impatient to meet and work with all these players every day. I think that for Catarina and for me it will be a very good thing, we are both young, we will be able to support each other. But honestly we are in the best place we can be, all we have to do is play and accomplish what we are here for."
Les Fenottes Smash Paris FC 5-0
Olympique Lyonnais Féminin (12-1-0, 36 points, 2nd) made quick work of Paris FC (5-5-3, 18 points, 6th) on Friday. OL scored two goals in the opening fifteen minutes en route to a dominant 5-0 win.
Dzsenifer Marozsán scored the game-winning goal just seven minutes in, smashing a loose ball into the right side of the net from the top of the penalty area. Nikita Parris added to the tally four minutes later, when she lobbed a bouncing ball over the keeper from a wide angle.
Amel Majri scored on an assist from Parris in the 33rd minute, before returning the favor and assisting as Parris completed her brace in the 66th minute.
Wendie Renard added the final goal in the 73rd minute, connecting on a thunderous half-volley from inside the penalty area to help the club take all three points on the road.
