The National Women’s Soccer League today announced the key dates for the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup and the NWSL Regular Season. The league also announced that the Challenge Cup will be played in clubs’ home markets, compared to the centralized location used for the 2020 tournament.

An expanded six-team playoff format will begin on November 6, with the top two seeds receiving a first-round bye. The NWSL Championship will be held on Saturday, November 20.

The NWSL’s Medical Task Force has continued to work with public health officials regarding the league’s medical and testing protocols to create the safest environment possible for the league’s players, staff, and fans. The full set of protocols can be viewed online.

Additional details about the NWSL Challenge Cup and the 2021 regular season will be made available at a later date.
