Club Statement on Response to COVID-19 Outbreak

Consistent with the guidance provided by the NWSL earlier today, OL Reign will not be participating in the Thorns Preseason Tournament in Portland later this month. The tournament was scheduled to take place from March 29 – April 4, but has been cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

OL Reign will continue its preseason training in Tacoma in preparation for the upcoming 2020 NWSL season, which is slated to begin on April 18 with a match against the Washington Spirit.

At this time, no changes have been made to OL Reign’s NWSL regular season schedule.

In an effort to ensure the safest possible environment for OL Reign players and technical staff, until further notice, all training sessions will be closed to media, and access to training facilities will be limited to essential personnel.

The club will continue to consult with state and local authorities, leadership at the NWSL and U.S. Soccer, and our team physicians regarding our ongoing response to the outbreak.
