NWSL Announce Multi-Year Broadcast Deal With CBS and Twitch
The National Women’s Soccer League announced the league’s full broadcasting slate Tuesday, including a multi-year deal with CBS that will see the league’s matches air on CBS, CBS Sports and CBS All Access. In addition, the league has reached a multi-year deal to have Twitch serve as the league’s exclusive International Media Rights Partner in addition to presenting 24 matches domestically.
OL Reign will feature on CBS in the season opener against the Washington Spirit on Saturday, April 18. The match will mark the first time in history that a U.S. broadcast network will present live, national coverage of a women’s professional soccer club.
CBS Sports will air a total of 87 matches across CBS, CBS Sports Network and CBS All Access. 14 matches, including the NWSL semifinals, will air on CBS Sports Network, while 71 will air on CBS All Access. CBS All Access starts at $5.99 per month and is available on Apple and Android devices, as well as Xbox, Playstation, Fire TV, Roku, and Google Chromecast.
In addition to its season-opener airing on CBS, three of OL Reign’s matches will air on CBS Sports Network, six will air on Twitch and the remaining 14 will air on CBS All Access.
Twitch will serve as the league’s exclusive international media rights partner outside the United States, airing all 108 regular season matches, the playoffs and the NWSL championship available to viewers around the globe. Fans in the United States and Canada will be able to watch all 24 matches that will feature on Twitch for free. One of the foremost live streaming platforms in the world, Twitch is available on Apple and Android devices, as well as Xbox, Playstation, Fire TV, Roku, Google Chromecast and NVIDIA Shield.
