Seven Reign FC Players Called in for National Team Duty

Seven Reign FC players will represent their countries during the FIFA international break. Four players have been called in to represent their senior national teams, while three players will join the U.S. U-23s for the Nordic Tournament in England.

U.S. Women’s National Team players Megan Rapinoe and Allie Long have both been called in for the United States’ friendlies against Portugal. The U.S. will face Portugal at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Thursday, August 29 before taking on the same opponent at Allianz Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota on Tuesday, September 3.

Reign FC forward Jodie Taylor will join England for a pair of friendlies. The Lionesses will play against Belgium on Thursday, August 29 at Den Dreef Stadium in Leuven, before travelling to Norway to face the Gresshoppene in Bergen on Tuesday, September 3.

Reign FC defender Celia Jiménez Delgado will join Spain for a friendly against France at the Stade Gabriel-Montpied in Clermont-Ferrand on Saturday, August 31.

Reign FC’s keeper Casey Murphy, defender Schuyler DeBree and forward Bethany Balcer were named to the 23-player roster for the United States U-23 team in the 2019 Nordic Tournament. The three players will square off against their U23 counterparts from England, Norway and Sweden.

The U-23s will face Norway on Wednesday, August 28, the Lionesses on Friday, August 30 and Sweden on Monday, September 2. All three matches will be played Loughborough University in England.

Reign FC returns to league play when it hosts the Orlando Pride on Saturday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m.
