Four Reign FC Players Called in for International Friendlies
Four Reign FC players have been called in by their respective national teams for the October FIFA international break. Forwards Megan Rapinoe and Jodie Taylor and midfielders Allie Long and Rebecca Quinn will all represent their countries during the break.
Rapinoe and Long have been called in for a pair of friendlies to close out the U.S. Women’s National Team’s victory tour after winning the 2019 Women’s World Cup. The USWNT will play a pair of friendlies against South Korea, starting at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday, October 3 at 5:00 p.m. PT, before heading to Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois on Sunday, October 6 at 11:00 a.m. PT.
Taylor will join England to face Brazil at The Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough on Saturday, October 5 at 4:45 a.m. PT. The Lionesses will then travel to face Portugal at Bonfim Stadium in Setúbal on Tuesday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m. PT.
Quinn, meanwhile will join Canada for a friendly against Japan at IAI Stadium Nihondaira in Shizuoka, Japan on Saturday, October 5 at 10:30 p.m. PT.
Reign FC will play its final match of the regular season against the Orlando Pride on Saturday, October 12 at 4:30 p.m. PT. The club clinched a consecutive berth in the NWSL playoffs with a 2-0 win over Portland Thorns FC on Sunday, September 29.
