Starting XI: Seattle Reign FC vs. NJ/NY Gotham FC

Seattle Reign FC Head Coach Laura Harvey fields her first lineup of 2025 as the Reign take on Gotham FC at 7:00 p.m. PT at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington. 

The two sides have met a total of 30 times since 2013, including 28 regular season matches, one playoff match and one Challenge Cup match. Seattle has a slight hold on the series, tallying 12 wins, 10 losses and eight draws, outscoring Gotham FC 43-40. Reign FC veterans Lauren Barnes and Jess Fishlock are ranked first and second respectively in minutes played in the series.  

This match marks the return to NWSL action for both teams. In 2024, the Reign finished the season in 13th place, while Gotham finished in third place. The teams met twice throughout the season, resulting in one draw and one loss for the Reign.  

Lineup Notes: 

• Defender Phoebe McClernon and midfielder Ji So-Yun, who were tied for most starts (22) and most appearances (26) in 2024, appear in the lineup. 

• The lineup features six players who started in Reign FC’s last match against Gotham FC on September 16 – goalkeeper Claudia Dickey; defenders Shae Holmes and Phoebe McClernon; midfielders Angharad James-Turner and Ji So-Yun; forward Ana-Maria Crnogorčević 

• Two players are set to make their Reign FC debut – defender Madison Curry and forward Maddie Dahlien. Curry appeared in 22 games for Angel City FC in 2024 and was one of five players with Angel City FC to earn at least 20 starts. 

• Rookie forward Maddie Dahlien earns her first-ever professional start and is set to make her NWSL and Reign FC debuts. 

• Midfielder Jess Fishlock will wear the captain's armband. She’s one of four active NWSL players to have been in the league every season since its inception.
