Reign Reflections
Behavioral health impacts people of all ages, from all backgrounds and all walks of life. The world of professional soccer is no exception, with 40 percent of elite soccer players experiencing anxiety or depression.
In Reign Reflections, OL Reign and MultiCare Health System have partnered to tackle this taboo subject with the goal of helping empower people to:
· Acknowledge what they’re feeling
· Take comfort in the fact they’re not alone
· Seek help, if needed
Together, we can destigmatize mental health, paving the way for recovery in our communities. Use #ReignReflections to be a part of this critical conversation.
In the third and final installment of the series, Reign Reflections, OL Reign defender Sam Hiatt and forward Bethany Balcer are back to discuss the future of mental health and how they’ve been helped by the league’s first sport psychologist. Jeff Eisen, MD, chief medical officer for MultiCare Behavioral Health Network also speaks to the importance of open dialogue to expanding access to behavioral health care, treatment and support.
In the second of our three-part video series, OL Reign Academy players Ella Hwang and Eleanor Morrissey open up about finding balance as young athletes and establishing a good support system. Chris Ladish, PhD. speaks to the important of caring for your mental health as you would any other part of your health.
