Key Points Ahead of the Match:

1. LAST MEETING – Seattle Reign FC and Bay FC have met once previously across all competitions. The match, which took place in April in San Jose, California, was a 3-2 loss for the Reign. A disallowed goal for Seattle prevented the match from ending in a draw. The home side notched an 87th minute goal to win the match.

2. SCOUTING BAY FC– Bay FC are currently in 9th place in the NWSL standings with 25 points on the season, five more than the Reign. One position out of a playoff spot, Bay have lost just one of their last five regular season away matches. The squad most recently played a home match against Orlando and held the first-place team scoreless until the 84th minute, when forward Barbra Banda scored the game-winning goal.

Bay FC currently has three players out for the match – Savy King (excused absence), Alex Loera (SEI – knee) and Melissa Lowder (SEI - knee). Two additional players are questionable for the match – Joelle Anderson (back) and Alyssa Malonson (thigh).

“Well, look, we had enough chances to win [against Houston]. We had enough clear-cut chances to beat Houston and we got beat by an unbelievable goal, but we had way better chances than they had to score goals. So, we have to be mindful of that, like we created. Did we create as much as we've created in other games? Maybe not. But we created enough chances to win the game and that's reality.,” said Seattle Reign FC head coach Laura Harvey.

“I don't think in this league you can ever expect that you're just going to constantly get a multitude of chances, you've got to earn that, but I think we've got to continue to move the ball, control the game, work the opponent so that we can create these opportunities and earn the right to create them. I think that's a big key to it as well."

3. FOCUSED ON THE WIN – At this point in the season, it is crucial for the Reign to pick up points and move up in the standings. The team is feeling motivated entering the match against Bay FC.

“Obviously, Bay is a good team. We know that. We know coming into it. But I think last time we played them, we definitely could have beat them. We definitely had our opportunities. I think we'll just have a good game, we've been having a good week of practices, and I think we have the motivation to just really get the win,” said Reign FC forward Emeri Adames.

"I mean, like [Emeri] said, we know Bay is a good opponent, but I think that we're coming into it knowing that we could win. I think we just have to stay motivated and persevere through all the challenges through the game and just capitalize in the moment,” said Reign FC defender Jordyn Bugg.
