Jess Fishlock Named to Wales National Team for September FIFA Window

OL Reign midfielder Jess Fishlock has been called up to the Wales Women’s National Team for the September FIFA international match window. Wales will play two World Cup Qualifying matches during this window.

No. 34 ranked Wales first takes on No. 82 ranked Kazakhstan at Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli, Wales at 11:15 a.m. PT. Kazakhstan and Wales last met in November 2017, when Wales came away with a 1-0 lead. Prior to that match, the two teams clashed in September 2017 and Jess Fishlock scored the lone goal of the game.

In their second match, Wales takes on No. 105 ranked Estonia at Pärnu Rannastaadion in Pärnu, Estonia at 10:00 a.m. PT. The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 2-0 win for Wales, in March 2020.

A veteran player for Wales, Fishlock was the first Welsh player, man or woman, to reach 100 caps. She has made 119 appearances for Wales and tallied 31 goals. In her most recent match with Wales in June of this year, she played a full 90 minutes in the team’s 1-0 loss to Scotland.
