How to Watch: Emeri Adames and Jordyn Bugg Begin U-20 World Cup Campaign on Sunday
Seattle Reign FC forward Emeri Adames and defender Jordyn Bugg have traveled to Colombia with the United States Under-20 Women’s National Team to compete in the U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The 24-team tournament takes place from August 31 to September 22. The United States will compete in Group C, alongside Spain, Paraguay and Morocco. The U.S. opens their tournament against Spain, current champions of all three FIFA tournaments – the U-17 Women's World Cup, U-20 Women's World Cup and the Women’s World Cup.
The three group stage matches will be available to watch on FS2, Telemundo and Universo, as noted below:
Sunday, September 1
1:00 p.m. PT – USA vs. Spain – Pascual Guerrero Stadium in Cali, Colombia / FS2, Telemundo, NBC Universo
Wednesday, September 4
6:00 p.m. PT – USA vs. Morocco – Pascual Guerrero Stadium in Cali, Colombia / FS2
Saturday, September 7
4:00 p.m. PT – USA vs. Paraguay – El Techo Stadium in Bogotá, Colombia / Telemundo, NBC Universo
How it works
The 24 participating teams will be divided into six groups of four:
Group A: Colombia, Australia, Cameroon, Mexico
Group B: France, Canada, Brazil, Fiji
Group C: Spain, USA, Paraguay, Morocco
Group D: Germany, Venezuela, Nigeria, Korea Republic
Group E: Japan, New Zealand, Ghana, Austria
Group F: Korea DPR, Argentina, Costa Rica, Netherlands
The top two finishers in each group along with the four best third-place teams will advance to the Round of 16 to be played on Wednesday, September 11 and Thursday, September 12.
The winners of those matches advance to the Quarterfinals on Sunday, September 15, from which the winners will advance to the Semifinals on Wednesday, September 18. The Third-Place Match will be held on Saturday, September 21 with the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup Final taking place on Sunday, September 22.
