By the Numbers: Seattle Reign FC 2024 Recap
As the 2024 NWSL season comes to a close, we reflect back on the 2024 Seattle Reign FC season. Though the season was filled with ups and downs, it was also filled with many memorable milestone moments. Re-live those moment by the numbers:
2 – Forward Jordyn Huitema recorded her first-ever NWSL brace against Kansas City on June 9, becoming the youngest player to record 2 goals in a game in club history at the age of 23.
11 – Reign FC had 11 different players record at least one goal in the 2024 season, the most players to score in a season for the Reign since the 2017 season.
14 – The Reign brought in 14 new players in 2024 between the offseason and the final match of the season. Of those 14 players, there were three forwards, six midfielders, four defenders and one goalkeeper, who signed as a short-term replacement player.
16 – Midfielder Ainsley McCammon signed with the club through the 2028 season at just 16 years old on July 19, becoming the youngest signing in club history. She made her professional debut later that night in the club’s opening match of the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup against Utah.
18 – 18-year-old forward Emeri Adames became the youngest to score in Reign FC history when she scored against the Washington Spirit on May 24. At the time, her goal also made her the sixth-youngest scorer in NWSL history.
25 – This season, Reign FC listed a different starting XI in 25 of its 26 regular season matches. The only duplicated lineup came in the final two matches of the season. Midfielder Ji So-Yun and defender Phoebe McClernon both started in 22 matches, the most among all Reign FC players.
28 – Club original Jess Fishlock recorded three assists this season to pass Megan Rapinoe’s all-time club assist record of 26. Fishlock recorded the tying assist on April 21 against the Chicago Red Stars and became the lone leader on May 19 against the Orlando Pride. She extended her assist record to 28 assists the following match on May 24 against the Washington Spirit.
100 – On August 25, head coach Laura Harvey, who is a three-time NWSL Coach of the Year and winningest coach in league history, led the Reign to defeat North Carolina Courage, 1-0, to earn her 100th regular-season win.
16,598 – On August 25, Seattle Reign FC officially retired the jersey number for club legend Megan Rapinoe. The match to celebrate her career had 16,598 in attendance, the club’s second-highest attendance for a standalone regular season match in Reign FC history.
