Seattle Reign FC opened the 2025 season at home against NJ/NY Gotham FC, playing to a 1-1 draw. The match provided fans a taste of what the refreshed 2025 roster has to offer.

6 – This is the sixth time in head-to-head history that the Reign and Gotham FC have drawn 1-1. Last time the teams had the same result was June 2024, at Red bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. Forward Emeri Adames’ 71st minute goal was the third-latest game-tying goal the Reign have scored against Gotham.
7 – Seven Reign FC players put in a full 90-minute shift in the match – Goalkeeper Claudia Dickey, the entire blackline of Madison Curry, Jordyn Bugg, McClernon and Shae Holmes, as well as midfielder Jess Fishlock and forward Jordyn Huitema.
18 – Adames entered the match in the 69th minute and scored the game-tying goal just two minutes. The 18-year-old attacker now has two goals in her NWSL career and is the second youngest player in NWSL history to score their team’s opening goal of the season.
199 – This match marked the 199th NWSL regular season appearance for Reign FC original Jess Fishlock. The midfielder served as captain for the match and led the team with three shots, adding five duels won.
8,467 – Over 8,000 fans packed the stands to cheer the Reign on for the home opener, despite the pouring rain.
