OL Reign to host friendly with Club América at Starfire Stadium to celebrate unique partnership.

OL Reign, Olympique Lyonnais and Club América announced today the signing of a partnership for women's soccer on an international level. This unique agreement between three major actors in women's soccer around the world will strengthen the existing links between the clubs and develop new collaborations in various fields.

Claudia Carrion, Women Football Director of Club América, and Nick Perera, General Manager of OL Reign, were in Lyon-Décines, along with Sophie Sauvage, Head of International Women's soccer of OL Groupe and Vincent Ponsot, General Manager of soccer, to present the main lines of this collaboration.

The first axis will be developed around aspects related to women's professional teams, with the sharing of knowledge and skills between the various staffs of the three clubs, exchanges of information on recruitment, scouting networks and the organization of friendly games. The inaugural friendly match, symbolizing this new partnership, is scheduled for Saturday, February 25, at Starfire Stadium between OL Reign and Club América.

The friendly will provide fans with the opportunity to visit OL Reign’s new training site for the first time. OL Reign Season Ticket Members and Club América Supporters will have presale access to tickets beginning at 10:00 a.m. PT on Tuesday, February 7. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10:00 a.m. PT on Thursday, February 9. Team merchandise will also be available to purchase at the event, including a limited-edition scarf to commemorate the partnership between the clubs.

“This global partnership with Club América is not only significant for our clubs, but also for our sport,” said OL Reign general manager Nick Perera. “Together, we will be able to elevate the game by creating unique opportunities for our players, academies, and staff. We’re thrilled for this new partnership and the extensive possibilities that will stem from it.”

“Today we are proud to achieve a historic alliance in women's football, in which three leading teams, from three different regions, come together to advance growth and set the course for women's football future globally. We are happy to share our work and experience, which will allow us to improve our practices and processes to continue promoting Mexican football in the world.”, mentioned Club América Women Football Director, Claudia Carrion.

A second level of collaboration will be set up between the academies, embodied by exchanges on the organization of the structures, the strategies and the techniques of training between the educational teams, immersion courses and invitations on the youth tournaments.

“Women’s football is growing tremendously on a global scale, and we’re delighted to establish this partnership with Club América to innovate the game at the highest level through our experiences and success. As three of the leading clubs in women’s football, we are committed to excellence and eager to begin our collaborations to help influence the development of the sport around the world,” said Sophie Sauvage, Head of International Women's soccer at OL Groupe.

Finally, on the non-sporting side, synergies will be activated around joint communication campaigns on the values of sport, exemplarity and transmission to young people, sporting excellence and certain CSR themes. The sales and marketing teams will also share their networks and international partnership opportunities.

"We are proud today to bring a new dynamic to women's soccer internationally," said Vincent Ponsot, General Manager of Football at OL. "This new agreement will strengthen our close collaboration with OL Reign. By partnering with Club América, another major player in women's soccer on the North American continent, we aim to significantly accelerate the development of women's soccer around the world, from training with the transfer of knowledge and skills between our academies to the operation of our professional teams.”
