OL Reign to Hold Annual Pride Match Presented by Starbucks on July 1

OL Reign will hold its annual Pride Match on Friday, July 1 at its match against the North Carolina Courage at 7:00 p.m. PT at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington.

OL Reign’s 2022 Pride Match will be presented by Starbucks.

OL Reign and Starbucks have a longstanding partnership, built around doing good in the community. The two organizations work together all season to bring the OL Reign Legends Campaign to life. This campaign honors and celebrates extraordinary female leaders in the Pacific Northwest at each home match of the season. Starbucks also sponsored OL Reign’s 2021 Pride Match, highlighting their commitment to being an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community.

For the 2022 Pride Match, OL Reign will wear jerseys that feature rainbow numbers on the back, in a show of solidarity and support for the LGBTQ+ community. Fans can purchase OL Reign’s blue Hope jersey with Pride numbers on the back for a limited time.

In addition to the 2022 Pride Merch Collection, OL Reign will be auctioning player-worn and autographed jerseys from our Pride Match, presented by Starbucks, as well as player-worn and autographed Protect Trans Kids t-shirts. Proceeds from this auction support Equality Texas and Associated Students of Seattle Pacific (ASSP).

Kickoff for OL Reign’s 2022 Pride Match, presented by Starbucks is set for 7:00 p.m. PT on Friday, July 1. Fans can stream the match on Paramount+ or get tickets now to attend in person.

There will be a variety of giveaways, activities, and special performances for fans to enjoy. 1,000 fans attending the match will receive a mini rainbow flag and 500 fans will receive a Quinn poster. There will be face painting and a Pride balloon frame photo opp for fans and performances from the Supertonics, Reign City Riot, and SpinOut Color Guard.

"I think the Pride Match huge. We take it for granted a little bit. Our environment is very inclusive; the club has always been very inclusive, and we live in a place that's very inclusive. So, I think we do sometimes take that for granted, but I think when you hear the stories of other people's lives and how difficult it has been for them and even people within our locker room have that story, I think it makes it feel even more important and I hope everyone can come out and support it,” said OL Reign head coach Laura Harvey.
