OL Reign Sign Olivia Van der Jagt to One Year Contract

OL Reign today announced that it has signed midfielder Olivia Van der Jagt to a one-year contract with a one-year option. Per league and club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Van der Jagt was the 33rd overall draft pick in the 2022 NWSL draft. The Kent, Washington native played as a midfielder for the University of Washington and has been with OL Reign for preseason, including the tournament that the team played in Portland.

During the 2021 season, Van der Jagt started and played in 18 matches for the Huskies and played a full 90 minutes 14 times. She scored three goals throughout the season and added two assists in her 1,668 minutes of playing time. In her final year with the team, she was named to the All-Pac-12 Third Team and Scholar All-Region Second-Team. Van der Jagt also set a Husky record for most games played in a career with 88. In her career, she scored 12 goals and notched nine assists.

“We’re really happy for Olivia. She has done really well in preseason and deserved an opportunity to be part of our roster. We’re really glad that we are able to keep her local in Seattle and being able to sign a homegrown kid – it’s a huge thing for our club. We’re really proud of her and really excited for her future,” said head coach Laura Harvey.

Van der Jagt is available for selection in OL Reign’s first Challenge Cup match at Lumen Field tonight at 7:00 p.m. PT against Portland Thorns FC.
