2022 Lookback: OL Reign Never Quits

OL Reign’s determination and grit was on full display throughout the 2022 season but was particularly evident in the final 15 minutes of matches. The team was excellent in the final 15 minutes of nearly every match, both offensively and defensively.

In the defensive half of the field, OL Reign did not allow a single goal in the final 15 minutes of any match. This feat is extra impressive, paired with the fact that OL Reign excelled in the offensive half of the field during that timeframe.

In the offensive half, OL Reign managed to score six goals in the final 15 minutes of matches, tied for the most goals the team scored in any 15-minute period of the match for the Reign. Forward Bethany Balcer scored the two late goals throughout the season, the most of any OL Reign player. Forward Megan Rapinoe scored OL Reign’s latest regular season goal, contributing a game winner against Orlando in the 90+2’ of the match. Midfielder Rose Lavelle, as well as forwards Tobin Heath and Veronica Latsko also scored in the 76th minute or later in 2022.
