OL Reign Announces Activations Surrounding Sunday's NWSL Semifinal Match

Leading up to OL Reign’s NWSL semifinal match against the Kansas City Current on Sunday, the club has announced an exciting lineup of events for fans to enjoy.

To kick off the excitement, OL Reign originals Lu Barnes, Jess Fishlock and Megan Rapinoe, as well as head coach Laura Harvey, raised OL Reign’s flag at the Space Needle at 9:00 a.m. this morning. This is the first time in club history that the flag has flown atop Seattle’s most iconic landmark.

To honor OL Reign, the Seattle Center Monorail system will temporarily rename their world-famous trains to the OL Red train and OL Blue train, representing the colors of the club through the weekend.

This evening, the festivities in Seattle will continue with a rally at Pike Place Market, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The event will include the iconic Pike Place Fish Market Salmon Toss, performances from Reign City Riot, a Royal Guard Rally and a photo op with OL Reign’s 2022 NWSL Shield.

Seattle will continue to show support for OL Reign on Saturday, as multiple landmarks around the city light up in OL Reign colors. In addition, all three Seattle route Washington State Ferries will fly OL Reign flags all weekend long.

On matchday, plan to arrive to Lumen Field early, as there is a fun-filled lineup of activities planned! Gates will open at 3:00 p.m. There will be a giveaway of thundersticks at all Lumen Field entrances and many activities for fans on the concourse, including facepainting and photo ops with the 2022 NWSL Shield and OL Reign player cutouts.

In the North Plaza, there will be three food trucks and live music from Marina & The Dreamboats, as well as games and a poster making station. Prior to the beginning of the match, the national anthem will be performed by legendary Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready. Following the national anthem, there will be a 2022 NWSL Shield presentation.

At halftime, the festivities continue with a freestyle soccer performance from Caitlyn Schrepfer, as well as prize giveaways.
