Shirley Cruz Named to Costa Rica WNT for June FIFA Window

OL Reign midfielder Shirley Cruz has been named to the roster for the Costa Rica Women’s National Football Team for the June FIFA international window.

The 35-year-old midfielder has been playing with the Costa Rica senior national team since 2002, amassing 91 caps. As a frequent captain of the squad, Cruz has scored 29 goals for the team. She most recently made an appearance in Costa Rica’s match against Mexico on February 23rd of this year, where the two teams tied 0-0.

The No. 36 ranked Costa Rica Women’s National Team plays two matches during the FIFA international match window, both against the No. 80 ranked Guatemala. The first match is on Sunday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m. PT at Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica in San José, Costa Rica and the second is on Tuesday, June 15 at 8:30 a.m. PT at Sports Complex Fedefutbol-Plycem in San Rafael, Costa Rica.
