Nicole Momiki Named to Japan WNT for June FIFA Window

OL Reign forward Nicole Momiki has been named to the Japan Women’s National Football Team’s roster for the June FIFA international window.

25-year-old, Momiki has made 35 appearances for Japan’s senior national team, including two earlier this year during the April FIFA international window. In both matches the forward has played in this year, she has scored a goal for Japan, bringing her total goals scored for the team to 12.

The No. 11 ranked Japan Women’s National Team plays their first of two matches during the June FIFA international match window on Wednesday, June 9, at 11:15 p.m. PT against the No. 31 ranked Ukraine at Edion Stadium Hiroshima in Hiroshima, Japan. The two teams have not met previously.

Japan will then face off against No. 28 ranked Mexico at the MS&AD Cup 2021 on Saturday, June 12, at 10:00 p.m. PT at Kanseki Stadium Tochigi in Utsunomiya, Japan. The teams last met during the FIFA Women’s World Cup group stage in 2011, where Japan beat Mexico 4-0.
