Quinn Named to Canadian National Team for Olympic Games in Tokyo

OL Reign midfielder Quinn has been named to the Canadian National Team 18-player roster for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Quinn last played for Canada over the June FIFA international match window, in Canada’s match against Brazil, where the teams battled to a 0-0 draw. Quinn started the game, making an impact from the midfield. They were subbed out in the 60th minute of the match.

Quinn has made 63 appearances for Canada, scoring five goals while adding four assists. Quinn was part of the Canadian team that took home the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games.

Quinn and the Canadian WNT will be competing in Group E in the group stage of the Olympic Games, alongside Japan, Great Britain, and Chile. No. 8 ranked Canada begins their Olympic run with a game against No. 11 ranked Japan on Monday, July 21 at 3:30 a.m. PT at Sapporo Dome in Sapporo, Japan. The teams went head-to-head in October 2019, when Canada suffered a 4-0 loss. Canada then plays No. 37 ranked Chile on Thursday, July 24 at 3:30 a.m. PT at Sapporo Dome in Sapporo, Japan. In its last group stage match, Canada will take on Great Britain on Sunday, July 27 at 4:00 a.m. PT at Ibaraki Kashima Stadium in Kashima, Japan. Canada and Great Britain last met in the 2021 Olympic Games quarterfinal, where Canada came away with a 2-0 win.
