Megan Rapinoe Named to SheBelieves Cup Roster

U.S. Soccer has announced that OL Reign forward Megan Rapinoe has been named to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster for the upcoming SheBelieves Cup.

The tournament, which will be held at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida from February 18 through February 24, will see the U.S. square off against Brazil, Canada and Argentina in a round-robin format.

The U.S. will open the tournament against CONCACAF rivals Canada on Thursday, February 18 at 4 p.m. PT, followed by Brazil on Sunday, February 21 at noon PT. The United States will round out the tournament when it faces Argentina on Wednesday, February 24 at 4 p.m. PT.

Rapinoe, 35, has 170 caps for the U.S. Women’s National Team and has recorded 54 goals and 69 assists in that time. The Redding, California native has won two World Cups with the U.S. Women’s National Team, along with an Olympic gold medal and a second-place finish at the 2011 World Cup in Germany.

Individually, the forward was won a host of awards for her play, including the 2019 Ballon D’Or Féminin, the 2019 Best FIFA Women’s Player and received both the Golden Ball and Golden Boot at the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France. She has been named to the FIFPro World XI twice, in 2019 and 2020.
