Jodie Taylor Completes Transfer To Olympique Lyonnais

OL Reign today announced that forward Jodie Taylor has been transferred to Olympique Lyonnais. As per team and league policy, terms of the transfer were not disclosed. Subsequent to the transfer, OL Reign will continue to hold Taylor’s NWSL rights.

The English international forward was acquired by OL Reign (then Seattle Reign FC) in November 2017, in advance of the 2018 NWSL season. Taylor led the club to two NWSL playoff appearances in 2018 and 2019, as well as a third-place finish in the preliminary round of the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup.

“I am extremely excited to be joining OL for the remainder of 2020,” said Jodie Taylor. “It is a great opportunity to join one of the best women’s teams in the world.”

“When the opportunity arose for Jodie to move to OL to support their run in the Coupe de France and Champions League—as well as for the first part of OL’s upcoming season—we felt it important to support Jodie given all she has contributed to the club,” said OL Reign CEO Bill Predmore. “We are happy that Jodie will be able to pursue this opportunity and would gladly welcome her back to our club in the future.”
