Nicole Momiki Signs Contract Extension with OL Reign

OL Reign forward Nicole Momiki has signed an extension to her contract, adding an additional year that will see her stay with the club through the end of the 2022 season, the club announced today. Per league and club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Nicole showed her quality during the Challenge Cup this year,” said OL Reign head coach Farid Benstiti. “She is clever, creative player who will be very important for us this season. Extending her contract was natural given the what she brings to our team.”

Momiki joined OL Reign in May ahead of the NWSL Challenge Cup, bringing a record of success and experience from her time in the Japanese Nadeshiko League and with the Japanese national team. The forward appeared in all five of OL Reign’s matches at the Challenge Cup, serving in the game-winning assist to Bethany Balcer against Utah on July 8. Prior to the NWSL Fall Series, Momiki was loaned to Swedish side Linköpings FC, though a foot injury limited her to just one appearance with the club.

“Everything about this club became special to me this year,” Momiki said. “I’m happy to announce this news, and I’m so excited to try and make history with OL Reign as we look to win an NWSL Championship. I will do my best to make it happen.”
