Jess Fishlock Named NWSL Player of the Month

The National Women’s Soccer League announced today that it has named Reign FC midfielder Jess Fishlock as the league’s Player of the Month for June. Fishlock has scored in three consecutive matches and helped Reign FC move into third in the standings in five appearances.

The NWSL Player of the Month is selected each week of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league on a consistent basis.

Fishlock made her 2019 debut on May 27 to help the club earn its first victory over the North Carolina Courage. The midfielder scored her first goal of the season in a 1-1 draw against Washington, which saw her named Player of the Week for Week Nine.

Since then, Fishlock has recorded consecutive game-winners on the road, first in a 1-0 win over the Chicago Red Stars, before adding a goal and an assist against Utah Royals FC on June 28.

Reign FC travels to take on Portland Thorns FC on Friday, July 5 at 8:00 p.m. PT. Fans in the U.S. can watch the match live on Yahoo! Sports.

The club returns home on Sunday, July 28 when it takes on the Chicago Red Stars at 1:00 p.m. PT. Tickets are available here, or by calling the Reign FC ticket office at (855) REIGN-FC.
