Reign FC Signs Schuyler DeBree from AC Sparta Praha
Reign FC announced today that it has signed defender Schuyler DeBree through the 2020 season. DeBree joins from AC Sparta Praha in the Czech Republic.
Debree, 22, was drafted by the Washington Spirit in 2018 with the 11th overall pick, but did not play for the Spirit. She won the 2018-19 Czech First Division with Sparta Praha.
The Fair Haven, N.J. native played her college soccer for the Duke Blue Devils. DeBree was the 2017 ACC Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the All-East Region First Team as a senior. Debree made 78 appearances for the Blue Devils.
Debree has also been involved with the U.S. Youth National Team dating back to her first call-up for a training camp as a U14 in 2010. DeBree played against Reign FC with the U.S. U23 squad during the 2019 Portland Invitational Tournament during preseason.
“I have only heard the best things about the Reign FC organization, including the coaching, soccer environment and commitment to professionalism,” DeBree said. “I am incredibly excited to be a part of such a respected organization and have the opportunity to grow as a player and person within it.”
The defender will join Reign FC immediately and will be available for selection for the July 28 match against the Chicago Red Stars.
The club returns home for its World Cup Homecoming Match on Sunday, July 28 against the Chicago Red Stars at 1:00 p.m. PT.
