Reign FC W-League Round Up – Week 5

The Australian W-League wrapped up its fifth week of play on Saturday, December 14. Six Reign FC players saw the pitch for their respective sides.

The first Melbourne derby of the season also served as the first match to see Reign FC players face off against each other this season. Steph Catley, Lauren Barnes, and Lydia Williams all played the full 90 for Melbourne City FC, while Darian Jenkins played the whole match for Melbourne Victory FC. Catley assisted on Yukari Kinga’s 89th-minute game-winning goal as Melbourne City took three points at home.

Barnes completed 82 of her 95 passes and made two clearances, while Williams made one save to keep her second clean sheet of the season.

Morgan Andrews and Celia Jiménez Delgado both started and played 90 minutes for Perth Glory FC in a 1-1 draw at home against Canberra United. Andrews took two shots and won seven of her 13 duels, while also winning all three of her tackles. Jiménez Delgado won one tackle and recorded two clearances and two interceptions.
