OL Reign Returns to Small Group Training

OL Reign resumed small group training on Monday, August 17, marking the formal resumption of team activities following the club’s participation in the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup. The club intends to progress to full team training on Monday, August 24, following the results of a second round of team testing for COVID-19, in accordance with league protocols.

Defender Julia Ashley has rejoined the team for training activities following her recovery from a back injury that saw her added to the 45-day disabled list on May 31. The training sessions also mark forward Leah Pruitt’s first involvement in club activities since she was acquired by the club on June 23. Sam Hiatt, who was selected by OL Reign in the 4th round of the 2020 NWSL College Draft has returned from injury and will participate in team activities for the first time.

OL Reign will be without a number of players who recently left the club on loan, including defender Lauren Barnes, midfielder Rebecca Quinn, and forward Nicole Momiki, who are all currently on loan to clubs in the Swedish Damallsvenskan.

Rose Lavelle, whose NWSL playing rights were acquired by OL Reign on Sunday, August 16, announced that she has signed with Manchester City. Lavelle's move to Manchester City, which was known by OL Reign prior to Sunday’s trade, will see Rose play in the WSL through June 2021.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all training sessions are restricted to essential personnel only and are not open to the public or the media.
