OL Reign to Hold Annual Pride Match on July 13

OL Reign will hold its annual Pride Match on Monday, July 13 in a game against Portland Thorns FC in Herriman, Utah. The match will be OL Reign’s final game of the preliminary round of the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup.

“The Pride match is always a special game for me each season—I always feel like I am playing for something more,” said OL Reign midfielder Jess Fishlock. “I am glad we’ve found a way to make it happen again this year. Although our fans in the Pacific Northwest won’t be able to join in person, I hope they will have a chance to support us from their homes.”

OL Reign’s 2020 Pride Match will be presented by Boeing.

“We are excited to partner with Boeing for this match as we celebrate the LGBTQA community in the Pacific Northwest and around the world,” said Bill Predmore, CEO of OL Reign. “We are well aligned in our values, and our club remains committed to fostering inclusion, respecting diversity, and working towards equality for all.”

“As a proud, returning sponsor of OL Reign committed to diversity and inclusion, Boeing is so pleased to partner with the team to present this year’s Pride Match,” said Bill McSherry, vice president of Government Operations at Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “As we cheer on these fantastic OL Reign athletes, we remain committed to ensuring equality and inclusion in our workplaces, communities and beyond.”

OL Reign will wear its new secondary kits for the match. In a show of solidarity and support for the LGBTQA community, each jersey will feature rainbow numbers on the back.

OL Reign will sell the match-worn, team-signed kits to raise money for Tacoma’s Rainbow Center. Rainbow Center expands resources and safe space for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and allied community through education, advocacy, and celebration. The OL Reign Pride Jerseys will be available for purchase starting at halftime of the Pride Match on July 13 for $249.00 each at www.olreignshop.com.

"The LGBTQ Community has been so pleased to have OL Reign in Tacoma,” said Troy Christensen, Executive Director of Rainbow Center. “We are big fans and are honored to be considered for this gift."

Kickoff for OL Reign’s 2020 Pride Match is set for 9:30 a.m. PT on Monday, July 13. Fans in the United States and Canada can catch the game on CBS All Access, while fans elsewhere can catch the match on Twitch.
