Seattle Reign FC Forward Veronica Latsko Nominated for Goal of the Week

Seattle Reign FC forward Veronica Latsko has been nominated for NWSL Goal of Week for her game-winning strike against San Diego Wave FC on Friday. Her 89th minute goal propelled the Reign to a 2-1 victory, getting the team back in the win column in front of a home crowd at Lumen Field. 

Nominated alongside Orlando Pride forward Barbra Banda, Washington Spirit forward Brittany Ratcliffe and Bay FC forward Racheal Kundananji, Latsko’s header into the right side of the net marked her 11th game-winning goal across all competitions. 

After entering the match against San Diego as a sub in the 52nd minute, Latsko’s goal was scored in the 89th minute of the match. On a set piece, Reign midfielder Ji So-Yun floated a ball into the box from the left side of the field. Latsko freed herself of defenders, getting her head on the end of the service and flicking it into the back of net.
